⭕️Hydrogen combined with different elements and forms compounds called hydrides.

⭕️Hydrides are classified into :-

➖Ionic

➖saline

➖covalent

➖molecular

➖interstitail Hydrides.

⭕️Ionic hydrides are formed by S block elements.

LiH, BeH2, NaH etc

⭕️ The ionic hydrides undergo electrolysis.

⭕️ The hydride ions go to anode undergo oxidation and produce H2 gas.

⭕️BeH2, MgH2 hydrides show some covalent character LiH reacts with AlCl2 to form a very important reducing agent called LiAlH4
