i don't about the recent winners. the three scientists which i know in the discoveries is Alexander Flemming, Ronald Ross,Louis Pasteur, Yellapreggada Subba Rao. ETC...
1 Alexander flemming discovered penicillin which kills the bacteria and named as antibiotics in the time of first world war.(noble price in 1945)
2 Ronald Ross he discovered that the female Anopheles mosquitoes are the carrier of the causative microorganisms (parasites) for malaria.( noble price in 1902)
3 Louis Pasteur said that and discovered that when we heated the milk the bacteria which spoils the milk will be killed. this the another kind of preservation and Lazzaro Spallanzani  is the first person to prove experimentally that microorganisms could be killed by heating in 1768.
