What is Endothermic reaction ?

A reaction in which heat is either absorbed from the surrounding or has to be supplied continuously from outside, it is called as Endothermic reaction.

For example :

KNO3 + H2O + heat ==> KNO3

What is Exothermic reaction ?

A reaction in which heat is given away when reactants are transformed into the products is called as Exothermic reaction.

For example,

NaOH + H2O ==> NaOH + Heat.

Hello Dost ☺

Answer :

Exothermic reaction and endothermic reaction:

On the basis of energy changes during chemical reaction, they can be classified as

i) Exothermic reaction: A chemical reaction in which heat energy is produced.

Eg : C + O2 → CO2 (g) + heat

ii) Endothermic reaction: A chemical reaction in which heat energy is absorbed.

Eg : CaCO3 + Heat → CaO + CO2

Thanks ☺
