Answer:"The old home that I had remembered was not in the least bit like this. My old home was much better. . . Then I rationalized this to myself, and although it has not improved, still it is not so depressing an image; it is only my mood that has changed, because I am coming back to the country this time without any illusions."

As children we are so young, naive, and repressed to so many things that we often do not see the world for exactly as it is, even immediately around us. Since birth we know only our safe little world that has been built around us, and are blind to all social problems and standards that we do in fact live in, but because of our young age are not forced to live by. Children are the most loving and acceptable creatures that walk the earth, they do not judge, nor ridicule for what cannot be helped socially. In the story of My Old Home we see how Juntu and the young master's friendship is a perfect example of how carefree we are as children and how we do in fact see the world through rose colored lenses.
