A satellite which will be always be over a particular place on equator .
As seen from the Earth appears stationary , Such a satellite is called geostationary satellite .
Geostationary satellite is used for communication purposes .

Geostationary satellites is located exactly above the earth equator. If this satellite orbit is not aligned with the Earth equator the orbit is known as inclined orbit.
