It is also called as Golgi complex .And it work is to pack food products , which r prepared by the cell.And it sends the food products to the endoplasmic reticulum which transport the food to all parts of a cell.And it produces many enzymes which helps the cell in many ways.
And it one of the main organelle in the cell.

Camillo Golgi first observed densely stained reticular structures near the nucleus. These were latert named Golgi bodies after him. They consist of many flat, disc-shaped sacs or cisternae of 0.5μm to 1.0μm diameter. These are stacked parallel to each other. Varied number of cisternae are present in Golgi complex. The Golgi cisternae are concentrically arranged near the nucleus with distinct convex cics or the forming face and concave trans or the maturing face. Both organelle are totally different but interconnected
