She is an inspiration to all the deaf and blind children that they can also achieve in life by determination, perseverance and hard work. Her autobiography is a model to everyone that hard work always pays and there are no shortcuts for success. She became ardent advocate for people with disabilities, campaigned for women suffrage, labour rights and socialism. She travelled a lot and gave lectures whatever she went. She devoted much her life to raising funds for American foundation for the blind.
