The Keoladeo National Park established in 1982 is located to the south of Bharatpur in Rajasthan, on the Agra-Jaipur Highway. It is a wooded wetland that is home to over 350 species of birds, some of which are migratory. The Keoladeo National Park is spread over an area of 29 square kilometres.
The Ranthambore National Park was established in 1980 and is situated in Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan. It derives its name from the 10th century Ranthambore Fort. With a vast lake inside the equally vast park that covers an area of 282 square kilometres, there is an abundant population of tigers, leopards and marsh crocodiles in the park.
