Methods for forest conservation are

1. Afforestation or special programmes such as ‘Van Mahotsav’ should be launched and celebrated on a large scale. This will create awareness among the people regarding the protection of our forests. One of the other ways to create wareness is by including tree plantations as a part of all the celebrations and festivals .

2. One of the many ways by which the tribals protect the forests is by declaring a large patch of forests as ‘sacred groves’. Because these are worshipped by the tribals, trees in the sacred groves are considered to be sacred and not allowed to cut.

3. One of the most important factors which contribute towards the conservation of forests is the Joint Forest Management (JFM).
