Answer:

The kinetic molecular theory of matter states that: Matter is made up of particles that are constantly moving. ... Molecules in the solid phase have the least amount of energy, while gas particles have the greatest amount of energy. The temperature of a substance is a measure of the average kinetic energy of the particles.

hope this helps you..

kinetic molecular theory of matter

Matter consists of a small particles called atoms (or)molecules (or) ions.

Particles of matter are in a state of continuous motion and hence possess kinetic energy.

If we increase the temperature, the kinetic energy of the particles increases.

The forces between the particles are called intermolecular forces.

Force between the same kind of particles is COHESIVE FORCE.

Force between the different kind of particles is ADHESIVE FORCE.
