Objects that emit light on their own are called luminous objects. Best examples of luminous objects are the sun, stars, light bulb etc. Objects that do not reflect light are known as non luminous objects. Examples of non luminous objects are wood, plastics, metals etc.

Light helps us to see things. The sun,glow-worm,,torch,and bulb give out light and this light allows us to see thing.Such object that give or emit light of their own are knowns as luminous objects.

Non-luminous object-

Object like chair and painting do not give out light of their own. we see them when light form a luminous object falls on them. The object that do not give out light of their own are knowns as non-luminous object..
