Napolean was a military General in France.
While the directors of the formed directory
clashed with each other, it gave him an opportunity.
And he crowned himself as emperor. He saw himself as moderniser of Europe. He conquered different kingdoms of Europe and placed his family members over there.
He also introduced many reforms, like:
-Uniform system of weighs and measures by decimal system
-Protection of Private Property

People liked him in start as they saw him as their liberator, but things changed, people later started to see him and his armies as invading forces. In the war of Waterloo 1815, he was finally defeated.
