Most plants benefit from fertilizing, and whether you fertilize your garden with a natural or chemical fertilizer is up to you. Natural fertilizers are those formed through decomposition, while chemical fertilizers are manmade or mined. Natural fertilizers improve the texture of the soil and increase the amount of beneficial microorganisms. A wider range of chemical fertilizers specific to certain plant types are more readily available at home and garden centers than are natural fertilizers.
