Hey friend, here is your answer

On the basis of food they consume, the different living organisms van be categorised into three groups-

• Producers
• Consumers
• Decomposers

◆ Producers - All green plants and certain blue-green algae which can produce food by the process of photosynthesis are producers .These are also called autotrophs .
They absorb radiant energy of sun and produce organic compounds ( i.e. carbohydrates). They convert solar energy into chemical energy and thus called autotrophic. e.g - plants and blue green algae.
These are the source of nutrition for rest of ecosystem. They take up CO2 and release oxygen in turn into environment, thus balance the composition of air .

◆ Consumers - They are dependent on producers for their nutritional requirement and consume food prepared by producers. They are thus, called heterotrophs.

Consumers can be further divided into the following three categories :

• Herbivores
• Carnivores
• Omnivores

◆ Decomposers - These are microorganisms which feed on decaying and dead organic matter. They break down the remains of dead animals and plants, to releases various substances that can be used by other members of the ecosystem, example bacteria and fungi
They are useful in decomposing waste from ecosystem. They help in recycling of materials, cleaning of waste and creating space for the growth of new organisms .
