Soil erosion is the wearing away of soil due to natural agents like water, wind speed etc.

Causes:

1. Deforestation leads to soil erosion .The roots of the trees holds the soil , and if trees are cut then the soil also gets weared away.

2. If more trees are cut, then there will be no protection cover for the soil and rainfall in maximum amount can also wear away the soil.

Prevention:

1.Reforestation: as deforestation causes soil erosion therefore if more trees are planted then the chances of soil erosion will minimise.
