Blasie Pascal (1623 - 1662) was a very influential French mathematician and physicist he invented one of the first mechanical calculator. Pascal made from important contribution to the study of fluids and developed the concept of pressure and altitude. He conducted experiments on atmospheric pressure by constructing barometers and measuring air pressure. He also invented the hydraulic press and syringe. The SI unit of pressure is given as Pascal in his honour.
