Answer:
Samudragupta is the second ruler of the Gupta Dynasty, who ushered in the Golden Age in India. He was a benevolent ruler, a great warrior and a patron of arts. Samudragupta, son of Chandragupta, was perhaps the greatest king of Gupta dynasty. The poet praised the king in glowing terms — as a warrior, as a king who won victories in battle, who was learned and the best of poets. He is also described as equal to the gods. Samudragupta's campaign expanded the Gupta Empire far and wide. In the east, it included the whole of Bengal except its southeastern part. In the north, the confines of the empire ran along the Himalayas. In the west, it extended up to Punjab.
