1. Bases are bitter in taste and Soapy to touch.

2. Bases turn red litmus paper blue.

3. Bases are corrosive in nature and cause burn injury to skin.

4. Bases react with acid to form salts , which is a neutral substance. The reaction involved in the neutralisation reaction.

5. Bases are described by the presence of hydroxyl group (OH ).
