The water cycle or hydrologic is a continuous cycle where water evaporates, travels into the air and becomes part of a cloud, falls down to earth as precipitation, and then evaporates again. ... As clouds move up and over mountains, the water vapor condenses to form precipitation and freezes.

water from the different water bodies reaches the atmosphere through evaporation process in form of water vapour. Later, it losses its heat and condensation takes place in it. now water vapour again gets converted into water. When this becomes heavy, it falls on land as precipitation in the form of of rain, snow or sleet. Water that falls on land in the form of rain water collects in the ponds, streams and rivers, the river carry the water back to the ocean. And the complete process repeats again and again. this never ending movement of water on the surface of the earth is called water cycle. It is also known as hydrological cycle which neither has a beginning nor an end.
