Many people have different favourite festivals for varied reasons. But, to be honest, as an Indian, I love Independence day!!! Every Indian would love national festivals, but the love compared to a patriot is much high than that of a normal person. I love India, and I love Independence day. There is republic day too as a national festival, but it does not stand out much for me because, without independence, framing a new constitution wouldn't have been possible. This day, August 15, 1947, was the day, when we were freed from the aching clutches of the British, the day when we gained our wings back, the day when we got our sovereign power. It was mostly one of the happiest day for Indians. Despite of all miserable deaths, Indians could sense in the air, the wild feeling of nationalism. Imagine, if you were yet in the clutches of British, how terrible would it have been! Let us be happy to be free, and let us make Mother India happy alongside.
