Write advantage and disadvantageof TRF receiver.

The main advantage of a TRF receiver are:
1.Simplest type of receiver since it does not involve mixing and IF operation.
2.Very much suitable to receive single frequency.
3.TRF receives have good sensitivity.

Disadvantage of TRF receiver are:
1. Instability of the receiver.
2. Insufficient selectivity at high frequencies and poor adjacent channel rejection.
3.Bandwidth variation over the tuning range.

Advantages of TRF receiver:-

i) It is the most simplest type of receiver because it does not require mixing and IF operation.

ii) This type of receivers have good sensitivity.

iii) It is very much applicable to recieve single frequency.

Disadvantages of TRF receiver:-

i) The bandwidth of this receiver changes with center frequency.

ii) The gain of this receiver is non-uniform over a wide range of frequencies.

iii) The large number of RF stages lead to instability.
