Tetravalency- carbon has 4 atoms so it can neither lose nor gain so it forms covalent bond with other atoms.

Catenation- the process of forming branched, straight or circled chains in atoms isn't known as catenation mostly followed by carbon

Hydrocarbons- they differ by a CH group.posses the same properties

Alkanes-CnH2n+2(first member methane)

Alkenes-CnH2n( first member ethene)

Alkynes- CnH2n-2

Nomenclature(the most important) remember the root word, suffix n functional group.

Functional groups

OH represents Alchohol

CHO represents Aldehydes

COOH represents karbonic acid

R--O--R represents Ketone( R here is the Element)

If n is:

1 it is meth

2: eth

3:pro

4:but

5:pent

6:hex

7: Hept.

Reactions of formations of the elements under Alkanes ,alkenes and alkynes.

Esterification(very important, with one reaction) when acid and alchohol react they form esters .esters have fruity smell.

These things are most important in Organic chemistry.Questions are usually based on these topics prepare well. All the best

annie76: is there is any specific collage you are studying for???
annie76: and which language do you have???
annie76: atomic structure ,states of matter, chemical thermodynamics , equilibrium
annie76: these are the topics of physical chemistry in 11th standard
annie76: no problem
annie76: thanks for the rest

Inorganic chemistry is concerned with the properties and behavior of inorganic compounds, which include metals, minerals, and organometallic compounds. While organic chemistry is defined as the study of carbon-containing compounds and inorganic chemistry is the study of the remaining subset of compounds other than organic compounds, there is overlap between the two fields (such as organometallic compounds, which usually contain a metal or metalloid bonded directly to carbon).
