If roots alpha beta of the equation x²-px+16=0 satisfy the relation alpha ²+beta²=9 then write the value of p

We know that ,

α+β=-( coefficient of x)/( coefficient of x²)=-b/a

αβ=c/a=16/1=16

so ,α+β=p

squaring both sides

(α+β)²=p²

(α²+β²)+2αβ=p²

9+2×16=p²

41=p²

√41=p
