Children were dressed in their best bringing a festive look to the school. Principal B. Ravi Kiran garlanded a portrait of late Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. One the occasion, the teachers turned students and presented a variety of song and dance performances.We celebrate Children’s day in India on 14th of November every year. India’s First Prime Minister Pundit Jawaharlal Nehru was born in Allahabad on 14th November 1889. Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru popularly known as Chacha Nehru was very fond of children. His love for Children was immense. He always advocated that the children of the country are entitled to a fulfilled childhood and higher education.Because of Chacha Nehru’s immense love for children, 14th November was declared as Children’s day since the death of Nehru in 1964. Nationwide this day is celebrated to shower love and affection towards children.
Schools and Colleges celebrate Children’s day with great enthusiasm. Teachers and students of every school on this day come out of their daily routine to celebrate the day.
Children's Day was celebrated at St Joseph's Convent Senior Secondary School with enthusiasm. The theme of the programme was rose. Celebrations began with a prayer service conducted by teachers. It was followed by a fashion show by teachers and cultural quiz. Teachers were dressed up in a variety of traditional attire from various states. The quiz was based on the questions related to these states. A colourful dance followed. Keenly contested 'antakshri' contest between teachers and students was also held. Vote of thanks was proposed by the prime minster of the school, Bhavya Gupta.
St Paul School: It was a fun-filled day for students of St Paul School. The programme began with prayer, dance and tributes to Chacha Nehru. Various activities and events were organized and performed by teachers. The day had the theme of love. Programmes included informative play, enactment and songs. School principal Fr Sebi Edattukaran CMI was present. The programme ended with vote of thanks by school vice-president Afsha Ali.
Sharda Vidya Mandir: Colourful programme was presented by teachers of Sharda Vidya Mandir to celebrate Children's Day. Teachers sang, danced and enacted onstage to make the morning memorable. Chairman of the school, Vinay Agrawal, and principal Shefali Gautam addressed the children and encouraged them to dream big and work hard.
Jawahar Bal Bhavan: Week-long celebrations concluded here at Jawahar Bhal Bhavan on November 14. Students of different schools participated in the functions. On the last day, students presented colourful cultural programmes.
