Dear Sir,

We, the children of India, are writing to you today with a request to reopen our schools. We believe that while everyone has been trying their best to overcome these challenging times, it is time that you directly heard from us, the students - the main stakeholders of the education system.

We want to start off by saying thank you, all the educators and officials who worked hard to adapt to the online world. To our parents who continued to support our education by getting us smartphones, even when they were struggling to make ends meet. And to all the NGOs and Government leaders who came up with innovative practices to keep us engaged online. And to Students, who have gone above and beyond to help themselves and those around them.

To do this, we need to have open and safe spaces of communication where everyone can share their thoughts, feel comfortable around many people and be motivated to stay in school. If students are given the chance to share their voices, we are sure that we will be able to work in partnership with our teachers and authorities in helping schools reopen safely. Ask us what we want, ask us what is working and ask us how we can help. We are your partners in this!
