Public transport (also known as public transportation, public transit, or mass transit) is transport of passengers by group travel systems available for use by the general public, typically managed on a schedule, operated on established routes, and that charge a posted fee for each trip.[1][2][3] Examples of public transport include city buses, trolleybuses, trams (or light rail) and passenger trains, rapid transit (metro/subway/underground, etc.) and ferries. Public transport between cities is dominated by airlines, coaches, and intercity rail. High-speed rail networks are being developed in many parts of the world.

Most public transport systems run along fixed routes with set embarkation/disembarkation points to a prearranged timetable, with the most frequent services running to a headway (e.g.: "every 15 minutes" as opposed to being scheduled for any specific time of the day). However, most public transport trips include other modes of travel, such as passengers walking or catching bus services to access train stations.[4] Share taxis offer on-demand services in many parts of the world, which may compete with fixed public transport lines, or compliment them, by bringing passengers to interchanges. Paratransit is sometimes used in areas of low demand and for people who need a door-to-door service.[5]

Our nation is facing many problems, but according to me heavy traffic congestion is one of the biggest problem that is faced by everyone in each city.

I have observed in a  gradual increment of traffic in major cities which causes traffic congestion and you know what, I have a solution for it. I am sure if people follow this we shall see a gradual change. My solution is a bit time-taken, but it’s effective.

Importance of pooling (sharing) for schools/offices

I hardly find any student riding bicycle to their school, I understand that cycle has been replaced by motorbike/scooter. But riding on cycle makes student healthy and fit. If cycle will be made compulsory in every school till class 12th, this will lead to healthy India.

Students should be made compulsory to travel only through school bus/van, as it will be effective way to reduce traffic. Government should provide subsidies to schools to motivate public transport.

single parents are dropping their kids in car, that too leading to traffic congestion as well as exploitation of resources.

People usually take their car for office, car usually has 1 or 2 passenger/s, and this is common in every tier 1 city even cities have good public transport facilities.

It will be easier if I will bring an illustration to make this clearer:

Suppose 500 people are travelling from area X to area Y approximate distance 30 km leaving at the same time from their houses for their offices

So 500 cars on road, along with public buses, auto, motor bikes and cabs. This is the time when major roads of the cities are blocked and leads to pollution and traffic jam.

Everyone knows that 500 is just an example. There are more numbers than my examples.

Kindly think on my observation before saying “why we always face traffic on the road”

“A developed country is not a place where the poor have cars. It’s where rich use public transport.”

Thank you!!
