Pathetic State Of Traffic On Indian Roads

Vehicles, vehicles everywhere, not an iota of space for pedestrians to move on roads. Vehicles were invented for the convenience of man, but see their travesty; they have become a nuisance and a source of so much inconvenience for him!

The number of vehicles have grown phenomenally on the roads in India. The problem has grown so much out of proportion that during the rush hours there is utter chaos on roads in the cities and towns. The people who suffer the most are the pedestrians. Not only it is impossible for them to move, but their health suffers also. They are forced to inhale poisonous emissions from the vehicles.

The Government must implement stricter vehicle purchase laws. Roads should be widened. Special pedestrian paths should be built across roads for pedestrians.

                                        Pedestrians Problem

It is a fact universally recognized that the common man of India suffers the most. Pedestrians are mostly the common poor people. Many things are done in their names to garner their votes but little is done. That little is in such bad shape, that the common man avoids it. They have a difficult time crossing the busy roads. So the government made subways and over bridges. No doubt, they do not become immediately popular. It takes time for the people to see them. However, they are immediately seen by the beggars and anti-social element. They make them their haven. The water soon stagnates there. Then they become the breeding grounds for mosquitoes and flies. So there is no wonder that the majority of these subways remain unused. The pedestrians avoid them and risk their lives to cross the crowded road. The government should try to maintain them safe and clean if it wants the pedestrian to use them.
