The Teens of Today - Spoilt or Responsible?

There is a common belief among grown ups all around the world that teenagers are mostly immature and they do what they want to do without thinking of the outcome. Well, this is true at some point or other. While teenagers may think what they do is right because they are going through a rough phase of life, adults may disagree. Adolescence is a great battle where numerous boys and girls have to fight with their unco-operating body and mind. This is an age of growth and puberty. And the reality is puberty makes teenagers do things that they will never do or think as an adult.

So, responsibility is a complicated term for them. They have just came into the world of chaos from the beautiful world of childhood and responsibility is anew thing for them. It takes them years to finally throw away their "I will have what I want" theory and adapt to the real world outside. They seem to manage well, but they do not. Adults who were once teengers fail to understand them. As a result, most teens face anger and depression issues. They struggle with the competition thrust upon their shoulders by the school and the family. "Nobody understands me" is the commonest complaint a teen has. So, maybe the teenager is obeying the elders, doing his or her daily routines proper, studying hard, and maintaining social life pretty well, or maybe he or she is breaking rules, skipping classes, and deliberately avoiding social interactions, they all are searching for their own identities.

Yes, a 19th century teen was more in line than a teen of present days. But, the fact is every century has them and in every century, they are either spoilt or responsible. The concept of "responsibility" is well-received by the adults. But, to those adolescent minds, it is challenging and boring.
