One day Without Electricity
- Imagine one day on this planet without electricity. Imagine the inconvenience we face when the electricity is out for only a few hours. Our daily routine would come to a standstill.
- We are so used to electricity being at our home, schools, colleges and workplaces that we hardly notice its important till we suffer from its shortage.
- Imagine a time when there were no movie theaters, televisions, CD players or computers. Perhaps being without instant entertainment was why so many people learned to play musical instruments and write books. Families were usually larger in the number of children. They would often invite neighbors to gather for music and perhaps a dance. Possibly the invention of electricity has caused us to be less creative.
- It surely proves that trying to imagine life without electricity is as difficult for us as would have been for our great-great grandparents to imagine life with electricity. Try to imagine how technology will change our lives in the next fifty years. I wonder if the change will be as significant and life changing as the invention of electricity.
