Action makes habits, habits form character and character leads to destiny
Action is all about doing something to achieve our aims. We need a will or a power to do it. But when these actions are repeated again and again, it becomes our habit. We automatically start doing it with ease like swimming, writing which are some habitual actions.
We almost become mechanical when we perform any habitual actions. We need to be attentive and strong for achieving success. We also need to build up a positive attitude for this.
Now our habits form our character. It is formed by the way we respond to some situations. If we have a determined attitude, we can achieve excellence in our life. Children from the underprivileged families have tasted success despite having limited resources which proves this fact.
Character leads to destiny can be proven by understanding the theme of Shakespeare’s King Lear. In the opening scene, King Lear decided to distribute his kingdom to his 3 daughters on the basis of the amount of love they have for him. His hypocrite nature, his desire for his daughters to flatter him with their love and his belief that as a monarch, he can command love results in him disowning his youngest daughter Cordelia, who is the only one who has true love and affection towards her father and didn’t try to flatter him. But when both his elder daughter backstab him, he realises that his willingness and desire to listen and believe to every flattery he received has led to his own destruction. His character has led to his own destiny.
So, it is rightly said that action makes habits, habits form character and character leads to destiny.
