Global warming is the continual rise in the Earth's surface temperature and it's subsequent impact on it's climatic conditions. Global warming has caused adverse effects on the Earth's atmosphere. It has led to extreme weather conditions which in turn have adversely affected the life on the planet. Global warming, caused due to the emission of greenhouse gases such as carbon and methane, has led to several negative repercussions including rise in the sea level, increase in the air pollution and extreme weather conditions in various regions.

Main points to be noted on consequences of global warming:

1. It has resulted in rise in the sea level making the coastal areas more prone to floods.
2. The level of pollution in the air has gone up.
3. It has increased the frequency and intensity of the heat waves.
4. It has resulted in frequent wildfires.
5. It has resulted bin extreme weather conditions giving way to storms, hurricanes heat waves, floods and droughts in different regions.
6. It has given rise to several health problems including breathing problems, lung infection, sun stroke and organ failure among others.

Global warming is a cause of serious concern. It's consequences can be negated only if the carbon emission is brought down. While the governments of different countries are working in this direction, it is also the duty of the individuals to contribute their bit to control the carbon emission.
