Dear Siddharth,

I hope you are in better health now. I would like you to know that its okay that you did not do well in the exams. It is not the end of the world, every failure is a step towards success. You will think that these are empty words because its easier said than done but I will tell you my story and maybe then you will believe me.

I wanted to study abroad for my Masters and I had applied to a number of prestigious institutions across the world. I was accepted by all but rejected in terms of scholarship or financial aid. It was a devastating moment for me. I was in such turmoil that I fell ill physically and remained bed-ridden for a month. But then I realized that I had to make the most of everything, even my failures. So I applied to the most prestigious institution in India and got through easily. Once I had completed my Masters programme, I started applying abroad again. This time, I received full financial aid from all the universities I had applied to such that I was spoilt for choice. The lesson I learned is to take everything as an opportunity to do better next time.

Please don't give up. The only rule that human beings ought to follow is never to give up. That's the law of life, you can rest when you're gone. Life is for the living and hope is the beacon that takes us forward. Get up my friend, life awaits.

Your friend,

Aditya Agarwal

hey

I hope you are doing well. As you know already, yesterday our results had been declared and you were quite disheartened to see yours. I hope I'm able to cheer you up through this letter.

I was saddened to see tears in your eyes as you gazed at your answerscript. But let me tell you that one bad grade does not mean that your world has fallen apart. Please do not remain sad about the poor result but instead concentrate on the mistakes you have made and try to improve yourself on those areas. Remember, failure is the stepping stone to success. If you have failed, it does not mean that you are a bad student or you are not smart enough, it simply means that there are loopholes in your studying method that you need to focus upon. This is an opportunity for you to learn, so don't waste it.I had faced the same situation last term when I failed in mathamatics. But I did not let failure stand in my way, I consulted the teacher about ways to improve myself, practised relentlessly and aced the next exam. I'm sure even you can do it. Everyone makes mistakes , even great scientists like Thomas Alva Edison did not succeed always. But they never gave up despite failures. Please do not give up on your hopes. If there is any way I can help you, let me know. All the best for your next exam.
