NEED FOR PEACE AND HARMONY IN INDIA
Peace and Harmony are important cornerstones for mankind to thrive. The citizens of a country feel a sense of belongingness and can be productive only if a peaceful environment exists. The ideals of peace and harmony are deeply ingrained in the value system of Indians. This is very much evident by the white band in our tricolor, the security of fraternity to all Indian citizens in the preamble amongst others.
While the people of India largely enjoy peace, the harmony of the country is disrupted at times owing to social, political and economic factors. Lack of education and good job opportunities in some states like "Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Madhya Pradesh" seems to be a driving factor for the unemployed youth of the state to resort to Naxalism. This leads to a rise in the crime rate. India is home to every sixth person in the world. The diversity within this huge population is also immense. India has always strived to maintain peace, unity, and brotherhood.
The constitutional provision of secularity has played a key role indeed. Everyone (irrespective of their religion), for instance, is excited to relish the biryani on the occasion of Eid! The strength, in terms of both working personnel and capabilities, of India’s armed forces, might be keeping some imminent wars at bay.
Our nation has faced some gruesome terror attacks in the past. The recent surgical strike and air strike have made India’s zero-tolerance policy to terrorism crystal clear. Our Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi’s foreign visits and adoption of a ‘neighborhood first’ policy are also indirectly helping the cause. The government alone cannot and should not be responsible for maintaining peace and harmony in the country. Each one of us should develop an attitude of nurturing the feeling of brotherhood with all fellow citizens and pave way for a bright and big future for India!
