A grandparent is a constant presence in a child's life. My grandparents are individuals who I could look forward to seeing and could turn to for advice. Both of them showed me and insight into the complexities and challenges in life. My grandmother and grandfather had notable differences in their lives. My grandparents have great characteristics, experienced hardships, and had goals to accomplishMy grandparents both have amazing characteristics. My grandmother's name is Estelita; her wisdom and love are enough to earn my respect and admiration. Although she's elderly, her eyes reflect all of the knowledge and experiences of life. She encouraged me to do the right things. My grandfather, on the other hand, shaped his character as a religious man with moral beliefs. His name is Victorio and his presence in my life is something I will never forget. He was more of a perfectionist and wanted everyone to be happy. As an inheritance of the Philippines, my grandparents experienced a lot of hardships. Both grandparents were born in the Philippines in the mid 1920's. Victorio's occupation was a Jeep driver, while Estelita took care of all the household responsibilities. After she gave birth to eleven children, things started to go down. Their income was not enough to support the whole family. Therefore, they all lived their lives struggling to survive. The family lived under one roof in a little house made out of straw. During that time, my grandparents entered the era of the Great Depression.According to my grandparents, coming to America was a big accomplishment. Since my father was in the military, he was able to bring my grandparents to the mainland as his dependents. Living in the United States has made their lives less complicated.
