Sikkim is a state of India and has been a perfect example when it comes to things like Plastic Ban, Women Equality etc,. In 1998 Sikkim was the first state to ban the usage of disposable plastic bags. it also became the first state to ban the use of Single use plastic bottles. In 2016 Sikkim banned the use of Packaged Drinking water as well as Styrofoam plates and cutlery in order to reduce the plastic pollution.
Sikkim is now using plates made up of Paper, Leaf etc,. As the government noticed that the Events, Meetings conducted by them were creating a lot of plastic wastage, they stop using packaged drinking water. Now to replace the single use plastic bottles and packaged drinking water the government is using Reusable and Recyclable bottles at its events and offices. To be Precise Sikkim Government has taken the revolution against plastic to the next level and trying its best in order to achieve a Plastic free environment which won't be a threat to the Biodiversity of it.
Each and every state should take Sikkim as an example and strive hard in order to reduce the pollution caused by plastic and to achieve a plastic free environment, as plastic can threaten human life in next few years if the usage of plastic continued in this way. Every country and Every State should react in the same way in order to achieve a Plastic free environment as it is one of the most contributing factor for the environmental pollution caused by us.
