In a game of tug of war, two teams pull a war from either sides. When both the teams apply the same amount of force, the net force is 0 and the force is at equilibrium. This is known as balanced force.
If any one team applies a greater force, then the net force changes (greater force - lesser force) and the rope moves towards that side. This is an unbalanced force.
