I hope this letter finds you in great health and spirits. I have written to you to invite you to celebrate Diwali with us. I know your love for nature; Diwali in Solan is totally pollution free. The winter season starts quite early here. We will have all the fun here in the lap of nature. We will go to Chandigarh to buy crackers, sweets, and other things. On the eve of Diwali, we will let off the crackers. You will be surprised to see how beautiful the houses and buildings look. You will really like celebrating Diwali in the mountains. After the festival, I will take you to Shimla also. We will spend a day or two there. The rest is fine. Kindly, do confirm. Looking forward to your arrival. Give regards to uncle and aunt.

Dearest Mom and Dad

I hope you two are doing well and this letter finds you in good health. Now as you know my initial plan was to visit home for Diwali and I was extremely excited to spend the holidays with you but my room-mate has fallen sick and if I leave, there will be no one to take care of him. His parents can't come here either so I don't think it would be very feasible for me to travel and leave him on his own. This saddens me as well but I hope you understand. Khalid, my room mate is one of the kindest people I have met and hence, I can't leave him alone as his fever is sky rocketing and he's in pain. He needs me and I'm willing to stay back and help.

I know you people will fully understand this. I will send my Diwali gifts via parcel for Choti. And I will visit next month during our 10 day holidays. Till then, you people take care. Miss you people. Give my love to Nanu, Nani and Choti.
