Subject: Frequent occurrence of Train accidents.

Sir,

Kindly allow me a little space in your newspaper to ventilate my concern about the frequent occurrence of train accidents in recent times.

Among the possible steps, one is to ensure training. Fire fighting arrangement is required for every train. The level crossing should be properly manned. Proper maintenance of railway tracks and bridges is required. It is really tragic that journeys are fraught with danger.

Train accidents are almost daily occurrences in our country. Almost everyday newspapers report such accidents, Major or minor, in this or that part of the country. The computerized signaling or other modernization has come to no effect. Vandals and gangs of criminals make our railway journey unsafe and hazardous.

There are also passengers, who carry inflammable articles. Very recently trains have caught fire and many passengers have died. The accident in Rajdhani Express has been an eye-opener and the authority is now giving a second thought to the probable safety measures to be ensured in the future. Railway accidents cannot be fully avoided. But we can at least take some steps in this direction so that precious human lives can be saved. “Man proposes, God disposes” this proverb, holds true. Speed, proficiency, and safety─these must go together so that all journeys by train become ‘Suhana Safar’ (happy and beautiful journey).

I draw the attention of the concerned authority to take the necessary .

Yours Faithfully,
