Sophia is a social humanoid robot developed by Hong Kong-based company Hanson Robotics.  Sophia has been covered by media around the globe and has participated in many high-profile interviews. In October 2017, Sophia "became" a Saudi Arabian citizen, the first robot to receive citizenship of any country.

        Now, the next step in the robot's career could be that of a musician. Sophia is working with human musicians on several musical works as part of a project called Sophia Pop, said David Hanson. Hanson is the head of Hanson Robotics and Sophia's creator.
