Answer:

Nepal is one of the world's least developed countries, being landlocked, without significant resources for economic development, and handicapped by an inadequate transportation network. The economy is reliant on basic materials imports as well as overseas markets for forest and agricultural products. Nepal imports basic necessities like gasoline, construction materials, fertilisers, metals, and most consumer goods, and exports rice, jute, lumber, and textiles.

Agriculture, especially rice, corn (maize), and wheat agriculture, employs the majority of Nepal's people and generates well over half of the country's export revenues. Agricultural productivity, on the other hand, is quite low. Low yields are due to a lack of fertilisers and better seed, as well as the use of inefficient practises.

The mineral resources of Nepal are limited, dispersed, and underdeveloped. Coal (lignite), iron ore, magnesite, copper, cobalt, pyrite (used to make sulfuric acid), limestone, and mica are all recognised deposits. The vast river systems of Nepal offer enormous possibilities for hydropower generation.
