According to this law, the government shall not deny to any person in India equality before the law or equal protection of the laws.
The government shall not discriminate against any citizens on the grounds of religion, caste, ethnicity, gender or birth of the place.
All citizens shall have equality and opportunity in matters relating to any position in the government.
The principle of non-discrimination extends to social life as well.
