》Both are based on the heating effect of electric current.

》Both are build up using metals and alloys having very high melting points.

●Differences

》In bulb the light energy is more dominant over heat energy for functional work while In electric iron heat energy is dominant over light for functional work.

》Bulb does not need earth connection because does not draw generally large current while electric iron need earthing having a metallic body ,conversely to bulb.
