Physical maps

Physical maps are the pictorial representation of the relief features of a particular area like rivers and mountains

Physical maps make use of different colors to depict different relief features such as mountains in brown, water bodies in blue and forests in green.

Physical maps are sometimes three dimensional

Political maps

Political maps show territorial borders of state, countries and continents.

Political maps are, on the other hand, black and white in color as they just need to mark different boundaries.

Political maps are flat

Political maps are flat

They are handy and useful for tourists.

Because the political maps represent the borders between the cities and the countries together with the roads and population detail, that’s why they are very useful for tourists.

Physical maps make use of different colors to depict different relief features such as mountains in brown, water bodies in blue and forests in green.

Physical maps are sometimes three dimensional.

These are very useful for pilots.

For the students of geography, mountaineers and pilots, the physical maps are more useful as compared to the political one
