The factors which favor the homolytic cleavage of a bond are as follows:

1. Presence of high temperature:

The symmetric or homolytic fission of a non-polar covalent bond is favored by increasing the temperature. The process of formation of free radicals is then accelerated.

2. Presence of radical initiators:

The process of homolytic fission can also be accelerated by the presence of radical initiators like benzoyl peroxide.

Some other factors like the presence of UV radiations also favor the homolytic fission process.
