Precautions to be taken while conducting experiment to test the release of carbon dioxide during respiration -:

The apparatus should be air tight. Use Vaseline for this purpose.

The KOH containing tube should not touch the seeds and it should be hanged carefully.

Use freshly prepared KOH solution.
