3 differences -

1.Distance is the total length of path covered by body while moving from one point to another while displacement is the shortest distance between the initial and final positions in the direction being from the initial to final position.

2.Distance is a scalar quantity(only has magnitude) while displacement is a vector quantity(has magnitude as well as direction).

3.Distance is always greater than or equal to displacement while displacement is always less than or equal to distance.

Distance-

1) It refers to the amount of space between two points, measured along the actual path, linking them.

2) It is a Scalar Quantity

3) It is always Positive.

4) Formula= speed×time

Displacement-

1) It refers to the amount of space between the two points, measured along the shortest path linking them.

2) It is a Vector Quantity.

3) It can be Positive, Negative or Zero.

4) Formula= velocity×time
