Atomicity:

Atomicity of an element is defined as a measure of total number of atoms present in a molecule.

Formula:

Atomicity = \frac{molecular \:  mass}{atomic \:  mass}

  • The atomicity of sulphur is 8 because its molecule has 8 sulphur atoms.

(S_8)=8

  • The atomicity of ozone is 3 because its molecule has 3 oxygen atoms.

(O_3 )=3

  • The atomicity of phosphorus is 4 because its molecule has 4 sulphur atoms.

(P_4 )=4

  • The atomicity of chlorine is 2 because it's molecule has 2 chlorine atoms .

(Cl_2)= 2

Hence,

Atomicity of

  1. sulphur -8 ,
  2. Ozone-3,
  3. phosphorus-4 ,
  4. chlorine-2
