Lachung, Lachen and Yumthang Valley :
These towns are located in North Sikkim. Lachung and the Yumthang Valley is wwell known for its dazzling and picturesque scenery. Lachung monastery, Yumesamdong (Zero Point), and the high-altitude Gurudongmar Lake, one of the world's highest lakes are the other attractions in the area.
Pelling :
It takes three to four hours to drive to Pelling from Gangtok. Its main attraction are monasteries. Its location on a ridge provides a spectacular viewpoint.
Ravangla :
Ravangla is famous for its Buddha Park, the height of which is 130 foot. The golden statue of Buddha is surrounded by manicured gardens which is just pleasure to look at. There are number of other monasteries that can be visited in the area as well.
Namchi :
Namchi, is also famous for giant statues. At the moment it has two, one is of Guru Padmasambhava which is for Buddhists and the other one is of Lord Shiva which is for Hindus. The Buddhist statue, of Guru Padmasambhava , is around 140 feet tall located up on the Samdruptse Hill and The statue of Lord Shiva is white and 108 foot tall, located at Solophuk Hill.
Zuluk :
Zuluk is a small village with a very empowering history because of its connection with the Silk Route. During winter, it provides lovely view of the snowcapped mountain ranges. The best time to visit this place would be in the months of August and September as the foggy spoils the view of all its attractions, The Nag temple, Mt Kanchenjungha and Thambi View Point.
