Chemical Properties of Metals

  1. Metals are very easily corrodible
  2. Metals are known to lose electrons
  3. Most metals when they come in contact with the oxygen they form metal oxides
  4. They have lower electronegativities, they are generally electropositive elements
  5. Metals can act as very good reducing agents.

Chemical Properties of Non-Metals

  1. Non-metals generally contain 4-8 electrons in the outer shell
  2. Non-metals can readily lose or gain valence electrons
  3. When they come in contact with oxygen, non-metals form acidic oxides
  4. Non-metals are highly electronegative elements
  5. These elements are great oxidizing agents
  6. Non-metals do not react with water

Ankush10010: thanks but i need for class 8 not for class 10
PunithaPriya: its for 8th only not 10th
Ankush10010: ok

\textbf{\underline{\underline{Answer:-}}}

\textbf{\underline{\underline{Metal}}}

a solid material which is typically hard, shiny, malleable, fusible, and ductile, with good electrical and thermal conductivity.

e.g. iron, gold, silver, and aluminium, and alloys such as steel.

\textbf{\underline{\underline{Chemical\:Properties\:of\:Metals}}}

★Metals are very easily corrodible

★Metals are known to lose electrons

★Most metals when they come in contact with the oxygen they form metal oxides

★They have lower electronegativities, they are generally electropositive elements

★Metals can act as very good reducing agents

\textbf{\underline{\underline{Non-Metal}}}

In chemistry, a nonmetal is a chemical element that mostly lacks the characteristics of a metal.

Seventeen elements are generally classified as nonmetals: most are gases (hydrogen, helium, nitrogen, oxygen, fluorine, neon, chlorine, argon, krypton, xenon and radon); one is a liquid (bromine); and a few are solids (carbon, phosphorus, sulfur, selenium, andiodine).

★Non-metals can readily lose or gain valence electrons

thank you ☺
