Nick’s father and mother were extremely shocked after Nick’s attempt to commit suicide. They had the following conversation:

Nick’s Mother: Today’s incident has shaken me completely; what should we do?

Nick’s Father: I am equally perturbed! We will have to handle the situation very maturely. The first thing we have to do is react calmly. We don’t have to show our panic to him.

Nick’s Mother: Why did he do it? Have we not loved and cared for him truly?

Nick’s Father: No honey, it is not a matter of lack of love and care from our side; maybe he tried to do it keeping his future in mind. He might have considered himself to be burden on us, society, and himself. He did it in desperation and fear.

Nick’s Mother: How can we help him? Can’t we just explain to him how much we love him? Is there no way to make him feel strong?

Nick’s Father: Sure there is way; we must connect him to spiritual power. We must tell him with God he will be strong. We will explain him how God does miracles. We will surely instill divine values in him, which we have not given him yet. We will read the Bible to him every day. We will make his outlook positive and optimistic. Don’t worry!

Nick’s Mother: Kindly, do anything, but just don’t let him end his own life.

Nick’s Mom: I am really scared that Nick will attempt suicide again. He must be very frustrated for him to have tried doing it.

Nick’s Dad: Yes, we must do something about it so that it does not happen again.

NM: If he could do at least a few things that normal human beings do, he may not feel so upset.

ND: To start with, why don’t we try to get him used to an electric wheelchair so that he can move around on his own?

NM: That sounds nice. I am also thinking of finding a way for him to pick objects. So, he need not always call out to others for something that he needs.
